"Perhaps one day we'll live in a world where you ask us to pretend to be scientists..."

but for now you're just asking us to blog.
I've obviously mastered the talents of google searching and facebook stalking, but blogging is a whole new experience. Yea, I've read blogs before, but written them? Not so much.
"And your motto is: above all, be boring." I want to know how to write for the web and make it interesting. This means learning to add video, photos, and links to my blog.

Don't get me wrong, I'm all about writing (otherwise I wouldn't be a print journalism major!), but I'm a visual person. I think sights and sounds are crucial.
Just as important, I want to learn the ins and outs of the web itself. I've been using the internet for years, but what do I really know about how it works? Not a lot. (A little disheartening considering my parents both make their living by programming computers.) If I ever truly want to master the web (aka get a job), I have to get familiar with the language. Because let's face it; we're living in a technological world, and if you don't know the basics, you'll get left behind.

I have some pretty high expectations for this class, but most importantly, "don't drag my best friend, TV, into this..."
Number one goal: not to be so distracted by Hulu that I almost miss my blogging deadlines.

And in the future, I'll try to keep my 30 Rock references to a minimum.

whoa. it's my first blog

oh hello world
